LH Lifestyle | Peptide & Hormone Therapy
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as biological signaling molecules, helping the body regulate key functions such as metabolism, inflammation, tissue repair, and cellular communication.
Current research shows that specific therapeutic peptides may support:
- Glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity
- Inflammatory modulation
- Muscle recovery and lean mass maintenance
- Sleep quality and circadian balance
- Cognitive function and stress response
- Immune system signaling
- Joint, tendon, and connective tissue health
- Energy levels, resilience, and overall vitality
As we age, the body’s natural production of many signaling peptides and growth factors gradually declines. This reduction contributes to slower cellular repair, reduced metabolic efficiency, and diminished recovery capacity — often beginning in early to mid-adulthood.
Modern peptide therapy is designed to support the body’s existing biological pathways, helping cells communicate more efficiently and perform their intended functions more effectively. Rather than forcing change, peptides work by optimizing natural processes involved in regeneration, repair, and balance.
Healthy cellular function relies on the ability of cells to:
- Respond appropriately to internal and external signals
- Maintain metabolic and structural integrity
- Adapt to physical, emotional, and environmental stressors
Peptide therapy is commonly incorporated into personalized longevity and performance programs with the goal of supporting homeostasis, resilience, and long-term wellness.
All peptide treatments should be medically supervised, individually prescribed, and integrated into a comprehensive care plan based on clinical evaluation, laboratory data, and patient goals.

Questions? We’ve Got Answers
What are peptides?Peptides are proteins composed of amino acid chains that occur naturally within the body, which can be chemically synthesized or derived naturally to produce intended therapeutic outcomes. Examples of commonly known peptides include: insulin, oxytocin, semaglutide, and tirzepatide.
How do I begin?
Submit a patient inquiry form for review by our APN, and we will contact you to schedule a consultation, which will consist of:
- Inbody analysis
- Blood pressure
- History & Physical
- Grip strength assessment
- Discussion of laboratory orders
- Gut health testing (optional)
Why doesn’t my provider already prescribe these?Peptide therapy is not focused on outside of brand-name therapies during medical / nursing school, although hundreds of peptides are researched & introduced every year. Many providers are not familiar with therapeutic peptide options that are available, and it is considered more of a functional medicine/holistic approach to healthcare.
My provider says I don’t need my hormones tested. Why?Hormone tests are simply a ‘snapshot’ of time, and that should be taken into consideration when discussing lab tests. For women, our menstrual cycle, and certain medications, including oral contraception, can impact hormonal levels. We correlate a patient’s symptoms, medical history, AND lab values when making a treatment plan. As providers, we should always consider treating the PATIENT, and not just the LABS!
I thought testosterone was for body-builders, and that HRT for women causes cancer?Testosterone is a MALE and FEMALE hormone, and deficiency or excess of this hormone can cause symptomatic changes. When used safely and at the lowest, most effective dose, it can assist with a multitude of symptoms in both men and women. Data from the Women’s Health Initiative study from the early 2000s that suggested that HRT causes an increased risk for breast cancer has since been redacted and debunked.
I don’t like needles or injecting myself. What’s available to me?Not all peptides / hormones are injectable! There are capsules, nasal sprays, and transdermal creams available, as not all peptides / hormones require to be injected to be effective.
Do you accept insurance?Due to the length of time spent with each patient, individualized approach to care, continuing education, and training required to offer this specialized service, we do not accept insurance for any consultation or follow-up appointment fees. However, bloodwork or urine sent to a lab of your choosing will be billed through your insurance.
History of peptides
Insulin was the first commercially-known peptide, introduced in the 1920s. There are currently over 140 peptides used in therapeutic treatments today, and over 500 peptides are currently involved in preclinical development.
What can I do to make the most out of my peptide treatments?
Gut health, exercise, sleep, and stress all impact the success of peptide therapy. We recommend optimizing these aspects of your life before/during your treatment cycle to ensure the best success.
How can peptides be used to help me?
Peptides can be recreated synthetically to mimic the signaling process that naturally occurs throughout the body, and can be successful to regulate the following conditions:
- Blood & Glucose dysfunction
- Insulin Resistance
- Inflammation
- Brain Diseases
- Cardiac Disease
- Metabolic Syndromes
- Weight Management
- Immune Dysfunction
- Cancers
- Bone & Joint Injuries
- Sleep Disorders
- Anxiety / Depression
- Fatigue

Are they FDA-approved?
There are HUNDREDS of brand-name peptide based medications that exist on the market today, many of which are used for immunotherapy, gastrointestinal concerns, tumor/cancer growth, weight gain, diabetes, and skincare. We offer peptides that are dispensed from compounding pharmacies to assist with cost and availability. The pharmacies purchase raw materials from FDA-registered manufacturers and synthesize the formulas in cleanrooms that are compliant with USP 797 and 800 standards, and test their products with 3rd party labs for potency, sterility, and endotoxin screening.
I’m intrigued; what are the next steps?Fill out the patient intake form and email over your drivers license & insurance card (front & back) to lhlean@lhmedspa.com. This way we can get you scheduled for required bloodwork prior to a consultation with our APN.The consultation includes:
- Inbody composition analysis
- Blood pressure, heart rate
- Physical exam
- Discussion of medical / surgical / family history
- Bloodwork review
- Recommended treatment plan
